Keynote Speaker Information
Keynote speaker correspondence and Information from Dr Karen Kenny our Keynote Speaker Liaison
Covid-19 has changed our world, and caused us (along with many others) to put things on hold. As part of this process we have had to rethink the Research Ethics Conference 2021 and consider how and when we could host this event and welcome colleagues old and new to join us in the conversation.
We wanted to make sure that our invited keynote speakers know of our plans for next summer. We'll keep you informed as our preparations progress, with regular updates. We have already altered our original arrangements, but we are currently aiming for a conference on 25thJune 2021. We hope that we will be able to hold much of the event face-to-face, but we are also planning contingencies for a blended or totally virtual conference. If you can join us physically for the event, we will ensure that there is PPE available to keep you and our other delegates safe. We are also intending to ensure that our PPE provision is as sustainable as possible, to reduce harmful waste and minimise the carbon footprint of the event.
We also want to assure you that we will be monitoring the status of the pandemic and will make adjustments if necessary. The health and safety of our guests is always our priority.
If you haven't yet followed us on social media yet, please do so using the links below; you'll get faster updates and be able to participate in conversations about ethics both before and after the conference itself. We hope these conversations, and the event itself, will catalyse inter- and cross-disciplinary discussions, so we hope these accounts will help the conference be more than a standalone event.
We look forward to welcoming you to the Research Ethics Conference next year, in whatever format we are able to proceed.
Dr Karen Kenny
