About Me

I am an expert educator and communicator with 10 years experience working in Higher Education. I have held research, academic and professional services roles and therefore have a unique grasp the management and operation of a University and the postgraduate research experience. I am highly respected as a teacher and pedagogue, having presented and published my education research and practice in a number of different fora. In 2019 I was awarded Senior Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy in recognition of my leadership and excellence in learning and teaching with PGRs. I have experience of leading individuals and teams in direct line management and martrix management models. I lead with empathy and by example, building consensus and co-operation through professional generosity, practice sharing and mentoring. I am an active Equality, Diversity and Inclusivity champion and ally, and am currently leading on the development of the first Disabled and chronically ill staff and student network at the University of Exeter.
